Andy Smith (keys)
Andy, who had been working
with closely Phil Williams, played with Saiichi during 1992 to
1996. He, together with Phil, formed the backbone of Saiichi's
sound in the early '90s and was responsible for the tasty keyboard
work on Saiichi's album.
Born in Brighton in 1960,
Andy was classically trained on the piano. Andy was a member
of Fischer-Z, signed to EMI Germany, as well as if, Julian Bahula
Band, Electric Dream, Blues Agents, and others. Andy worked with
Archie Shepp, Hugh Masekela, George McRae, Hot Chocolate, and
for various TV and radio shows including The Schooner Flight (a
poem by Derek Walcott) and Sons of Soil.
